Who We Are

The Storage Index is a UK self-storage directory operated by Bobble Ventures, trading as Bobble Solutions Ltd. Our website address is listed in your browser's address bar.

What Data We Collect

Listing claim forms: When you submit a claim request, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and any message you provide. This data is used solely to verify your ownership of a listed business and to contact you about your claim.

Contact forms: When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and message content to respond to your enquiry.

Business listings: We collect publicly available business information including business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, Google ratings, and review counts from public sources.

Analytics: We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to collect anonymised analytics including page views, referral sources, and general usage patterns. PostHog runs in cookieless mode by default — no cookies are set and no consent is required for this basic tracking. If you accept our cookie notice, PostHog upgrades to persistent tracking for richer session data.

Cookies: We use a cookie to remember your consent preference. If you accept, PostHog also sets cookies for enhanced session analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.

How We Use Your Data

We use personal data only to:

  • Process and respond to listing claim requests
  • Respond to contact enquiries
  • Maintain accurate business listings

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • cookie_consent — records whether you have accepted our cookie notice. Expires after 365 days.
  • PostHog analytics cookies — only set if you accept our cookie notice, used for enhanced session analytics. PostHog also runs in cookieless mode before consent, capturing basic page views without setting cookies. EU-hosted. See PostHog's privacy policy.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising cookies. Third-party services embedded on our pages (Leaflet map tiles) may set their own cookies — please refer to their respective privacy policies.

Data Retention

Claim request data is retained for as long as necessary to process the claim. Contact enquiry data is retained for up to 12 months. Business listing data is retained for as long as the listing is active on our directory.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
